Russia’s Trade with Montenegro

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Montenegro was $4,017,709, down 25.89% ($1,403,508) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $2,311,742, down 45.37% ($1,920,278) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,705,967, up 43.46% ($516,770) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $605,775, a 80.09% decrease ($2,437,048) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Montenegro was Russia’s 153rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 140th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0027% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0044% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Montenegro was Russia’s 147th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 135th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0027% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0059% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Montenegro was Russia’s 126th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 128th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0028% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0024% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Montenegro

The major share of Russian exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 35.06% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (62.21% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 33.15% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (24.10% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 26.86% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (6.39% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.42% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (2.90% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.75% of Russia’s total exports to Montenegro (2.39% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $360,413;
  • Beverages, spirits and vinegar (HS code 22) - an increase of $38,307;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $27,014.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $1,808,693;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $253,368;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $83,643;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $69,626;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - a decrease of $40,300;
  • Ceramic products (HS code 69) - a decrease of $16,698;
  • Toys, games and sports requisites; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 95) - a decrease of $13,935;
  • Miscellaneous articles of base metal (HS code 83) - a decrease of $10,768;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $10,496;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $9,266.

The major share of Russian imports from Montenegro in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
