Russia’s Trade with New Zealand

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with New Zealand totaled $88,808,405, up 19.85% ($14,707,488) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to New Zealand in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $38,227,762, down 0.93% ($360,016) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from New Zealand in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $50,580,643, up 42.43% ($15,067,504) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade balance with New Zealand went from a surplus of $3,074,639 in the 3rd quarter of 2016, to a deficit of $12,352,881 in the 3rd quarter of 2017.

New Zealand was Russia’s 83rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 101st in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0607% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0608% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 90th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 143rd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0448% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0536% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 64th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 77th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0832% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0711% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to New Zealand

The major share of Russian exports to New Zealand in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 95.50% of Russia’s total exports to New Zealand (94.55% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.15% of Russia’s total exports to New Zealand (1.51% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Imports from New Zealand

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 5.22% of Russia’s total imports from New Zealand (8.87% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
