Russia’s Trade with Sweden

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Sweden was $1,020,597,340, down 14.87% ($178,315,817) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $510,480,010, down 29.64% ($215,037,113) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $510,117,330, up 7.76% ($36,721,296) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $362,680, a 99.86% decrease ($251,758,409) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Sweden was Russia’s 29th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 22nd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6981% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9833% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Sweden was Russia’s 35th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 21st in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.5980% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.0084% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Sweden was Russia’s 27th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 24th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.8386% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.9472% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Sweden

The major share of Russian exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 71.17% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (66.17% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 18.89% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (23.11% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.10% of Russia’s total exports to Sweden (2.37% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);

  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $2,055,216.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Sweden in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:
