Russia’s Trade with the Czech Republic

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with the Czech Republic totaled $1,935,489,158, up 40.68% ($559,646,115) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to the Czech Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $1,038,659,715, up 56.69% ($375,789,056) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from the Czech Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $896,829,443, up 25.79% ($183,857,059) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade balance with the Czech Republic went from a deficit of $50,101,725 in the 3rd quarter of 2016, to a surplus of $141,830,272 in the 3rd quarter of 2017.

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 18th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 20th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.3240% of Russia’s total trade (up from 1.1285% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 20th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 24th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.2168% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.9214% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The Czech Republic was Russia’s 15th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 14th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 1.4744% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.4266% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to the Czech Republic

The major share of Russian exports to the Czech Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 72.52% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (75.85% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.12% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (10.27% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 7.07% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (5.88% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.21% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (1.49% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 1.94% of Russia’s total exports to the Czech Republic (3.19% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $21,099,164;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $17,983,033;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $10,000,558;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $3,988,876.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to the Czech Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

Russia’s Imports from the Czech Republic

The major share of Russian imports from the Czech Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
