Russia’s Trade with Tunisia

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Tunisia totaled $142,894,414, up 21.64% ($25,417,329) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $104,858,972, up 22.37% ($19,171,041) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $38,035,442, up 19.65% ($6,246,288) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $66,823,530, a 23.98% increase ($12,924,753) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Tunisia was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 73rd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0977% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0964% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Tunisia was Russia’s 79th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 62nd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1228% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.1191% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Tunisia was Russia’s 81st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 80th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0625% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0636% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Tunisia

The major share of Russian exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 61.61% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (73.70% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 25.68% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (10.94% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.40% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (12.59% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.57% of Russia’s total exports to Tunisia (2.23% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $8,854,850;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $8,699,231;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $1,203,906;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $730,567;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $560,593;
  • Pulp of wood or of other fibrous cellulosic material; waste and scrap of paper or paperboard (HS code 47) - an increase of $382,566;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $332,287.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 over the 3rd quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $1,667,295.

Russia’s Imports from Tunisia

The major share of Russian imports from Tunisia in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 18.85% of Russia’s total imports from Tunisia (18.29% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 7.57% of Russia’s total imports from Tunisia (6.97% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
