Russia’s Trade with Turkmenistan

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Turkmenistan was $89,878,064, down 43.40% ($68,917,622) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Turkmenistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $69,735,917, down 44.52% ($55,958,010) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Turkmenistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 were $20,142,147, down 39.15% ($12,959,612) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkmenistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $49,593,770, a 46.44% decrease ($42,998,398) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 82nd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 42nd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0615% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1302% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 75th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 50th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0817% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1747% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Turkmenistan was Russia’s 84th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 33rd in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0331% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0662% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Turkmenistan

The major share of Russian exports to Turkmenistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 36.58% of Russia’s total exports to Turkmenistan (10.60% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 29.81% of Russia’s total exports to Turkmenistan (14.92% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.22% of Russia’s total exports to Turkmenistan (13.20% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
