Russia’s Trade with Uzbekistan

In the 3rd quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Uzbekistan totaled $901,703,188, up 27.52% ($194,613,349) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Uzbekistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $637,228,868, up 25.12% ($127,953,532) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Uzbekistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 totaled $264,474,320, up 33.70% ($66,659,817) from the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Uzbekistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 was $372,754,548, a 19.68% increase ($61,293,715) over the 3rd quarter of 2016.

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 33rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (down from 30th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.6168% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5799% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 30th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.7465% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.7079% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 34th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (up from 38th in the 3rd quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4348% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3958% in the 3rd quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Uzbekistan

The major share of Russian exports to Uzbekistan in the 3rd quarter of 2017 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 21.63% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (18.57% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 19.15% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (20.50% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 19.08% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (15.15% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 15.36% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (15.42% in the 3rd quarter of 2016);
