Russia’s Trade with Argentina

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Argentina was $163,142,903, down 16.15% ($31,420,844) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Argentina in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $15,787,747, down 58.43% ($22,186,495) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Argentina in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $147,355,156, down 5.90% ($9,234,349) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Argentina in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $131,567,409, a 10.92% increase ($12,952,146) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Argentina was Russia’s 76th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 67th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0976% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1428% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Argentina was Russia’s 112th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 89th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0153% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0453% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Argentina was Russia’s 53rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 47th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.2292% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2987% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Argentina

The major share of Russian exports to Argentina in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 43.85% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (85.35% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.21% of Russia’s total exports to Argentina (4.29% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - an increase of $154,863;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $116,800;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $111,792;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - an increase of $87,242.

Russia’s Imports from Argentina

The major share of Russian imports from Argentina in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
