Russia’s Trade with Chile

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Chile totaled $298,680,342, up 67.32% ($120,174,339) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $25,657,793, up 125.83% ($14,296,453) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Chile in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $273,022,549, up 63.35% ($105,877,886) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with Chile in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $247,364,756, a 58.79% increase ($91,581,433) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Chile was Russia’s 64th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 69th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.1787% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1310% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Chile was Russia’s 103rd largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 113th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0249% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0136% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Chile was Russia’s 39th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 45th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4247% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3188% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Chile

The major share of Russian exports to Chile in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 31.96% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (31.54% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 28.50% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (37.86% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.20% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (3.37% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 13.93% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (17.89% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.77% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (7.21% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.64% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (0.89% in the 4th quarter of 2016).
