Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Jordan totaled $60,130,673, up 53.28% ($20,902,372) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $54,662,959, up 62.25% ($20,973,420) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $5,467,714, down 1.28% ($71,048) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $49,195,245, a 74.76% increase ($21,044,468) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Jordan was Russia’s 97th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 104th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0360% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0288% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Jordan was Russia’s 84th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 93rd in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0531% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0402% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Jordan was Russia’s 103rd largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 105th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0085% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0106% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 68.84% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (64.82% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 24.19% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (25.63% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 2.41% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (1.31% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.05% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (3.93% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $4,592,640;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $4,320,461;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $2,096,758;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $887,551;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $873,762;
  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - an increase of $575,141;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $259,247;
  • Live animals (HS code 01) - an increase of $195,120.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - a decrease of $253,787;
  • Pharmaceutical products (HS code 30) - a decrease of $219,497.
