Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Peru was $87,423,871, down 14.58% ($14,919,202) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $63,269,810, down 14.34% ($10,593,759) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 were $24,154,061, down 15.19% ($4,325,443) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $39,115,749, a 13.81% decrease ($6,268,316) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Peru was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 84th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0523% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0751% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Peru was Russia’s 78th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 77th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0615% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0881% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Peru was Russia’s 86th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (down from 79th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.0376% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0543% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 68.91% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (57.45% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 16.18% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (11.78% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 9.76% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (0.02% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.70% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (3.48% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.58% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (9.52% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 0.12% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (14.58% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $6,082,483;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $2,027,912;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,561,744;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $314,207.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $10,551,890;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $2,765,416;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $1,879,423;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $1,356,726;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $1,120,544;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $830,893;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $194,449.

Russia’s Imports from Peru

The major share of Russian imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 85.03% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (89.40% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 11.89% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (8.75% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 2.40% of Russia’s total imports from Peru (1.53% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Preparations of meat, of fish or of crustaceans, molluscs or other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 16) - an increase of $1,538,800;
  • Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 03) - an increase of $892,413;

  • Residues and waste from the food industries; prepared animal feed (HS code 23) - an increase of $198,481;
  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - an increase of $144,216;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $111,652;
  • Lac; gums, resins and other vegetable saps and extracts (HS code 13) - an increase of $81,375;

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Peru in the 4th quarter of 2017 over the 4th quarter of 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $3,632,279;
  • Coffee, tea, maté and spices (HS code 09) - a decrease of $1,866,594;
  • Edible fruit and nuts; peel of citrus fruit or melons (HS code 08) - a decrease of $1,435,188;
  • Oil seeds and oleaginous fruits; miscellaneous grains, seeds and fruits; industrial or medicinal plants; straw and fodder (HS code 12) - a decrease of $783,073.
