Russia’s Trade with Uzbekistan

In the 4th quarter of 2017, Russia’s trade with Uzbekistan totaled $1,215,526,321, up 63.06% ($470,088,813) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s exports to Uzbekistan in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $930,330,103, up 76.41% ($402,960,275) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s imports from Uzbekistan in the 4th quarter of 2017 totaled $285,196,218, up 30.78% ($67,128,538) from the 4th quarter of 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Uzbekistan in the 4th quarter of 2017 was $645,133,885, a 108.58% increase ($335,831,737) over the 4th quarter of 2016.

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 31st largest trading partner in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 38th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.7272% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.5470% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 26th largest export market in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 36th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.9044% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.6290% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Uzbekistan was Russia’s 36th largest supplier in the 4th quarter of 2017 (up from 39th in the 4th quarter of 2016), accounting for 0.4437% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.4159% in the 4th quarter of 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Uzbekistan

The major share of Russian exports to Uzbekistan in the 4th quarter of 2017 (and in the 4th quarter of 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 18.90% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (16.06% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.89% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (17.23% in the 4th quarter of 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 14.15% of Russia’s total exports to Uzbekistan (14.74% in the 4th quarter of 2016);

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $16,252,837;
