In 2017, Russia’s trade with Algeria totaled $4,630,253,343, up 16.50% ($655,806,947) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Algeria in 2017 totaled $4,621,195,093, up 16.51% ($654,914,578) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Algeria in 2017 totaled $9,058,250, up 10.93% ($892,369) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Algeria in 2017 was $4,612,136,843, a 16.52% increase ($654,022,209) over 2016.

Algeria was Russia’s 28th largest trading partner in 2017 (down from 27th in 2016), accounting for 0.7928% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.8497% in 2016).

Algeria was Russia’s 20th largest export market in 2017 (down from 19th in 2016), accounting for 1.2942% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.3893% in 2016).

Algeria was Russia’s 117th largest supplier in 2017 (up from 120th in 2016), accounting for 0.0040% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0045% in 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Algeria

The major share of Russian exports to Algeria in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 22.87% of Russia’s total exports to Algeria (41.38% in 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.67% of Russia’s total exports to Algeria (2.61% in 2016);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Algeria in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $886,203,855;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $33,038,794;
