Russia’s exports to Ethiopia in 2017 were $61,427,671, down 68.42% ($133,060,135) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Ethiopia in 2017 totaled $27,665,632, up 34.15% ($7,043,458) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Ethiopia in 2017 was $33,762,039, a 80.58% decrease ($140,103,593) over 2016.

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.76% of Russia’s total exports to Ethiopia (9.35% in 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.47% of Russia’s total exports to Ethiopia (0.78% in 2016);

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,191,205;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - an increase of $520,953.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ethiopia in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $9,798,008;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $9,506,000;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $2,093,943;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $699,556.

Russia’s Imports from Ethiopia
