Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In 2017, Russia’s trade with Jordan was $156,938,973, down 10.10% ($17,634,647) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2017 were $133,966,045, down 14.47% ($22,655,891) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in 2017 totaled $22,972,928, up 27.97% ($5,021,244) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in 2017 was $110,993,117, a 19.96% decrease ($27,677,135) over 2016.

Jordan was Russia’s 104th largest trading partner in 2017 (down from 102nd in 2016), accounting for 0.0269% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0373% in 2016).

Jordan was Russia’s 93rd largest export market in 2017 (down from 89th in 2016), accounting for 0.0375% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0549% in 2016).

Jordan was Russia’s 103rd largest supplier in 2017 (up from 105th in 2016), accounting for 0.0101% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0098% in 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 63.99% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (57.57% in 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 15.83% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (13.65% in 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.75% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (4.41% in 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.74% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (1.40% in 2016);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 1.55% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (0.57% in 2016);

  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $3,747,735;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $2,699,694;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $1,701,192;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,184,439;
  • Live animals (HS code 01) - an increase of $836,560;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $763,840;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $752,369;
  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - an increase of $519,423;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $411,255.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $15,002,764;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $2,041,297;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $1,793,401;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $526,058.
