In 2017, Russia’s trade with Morocco totaled $1,461,352,363, up 13.18% ($170,229,398) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2017 totaled $894,881,934, up 23.50% ($170,283,673) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Morocco in 2017 were $566,470,429, down 0.01% ($54,275) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Morocco in 2017 was $328,411,505, a 107.76% increase ($170,337,948) over 2016.

Morocco was Russia’s 55th largest trading partner in 2017 (down from 52nd in 2016), accounting for 0.2502% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2760% in 2016).

Morocco was Russia’s 51st largest export market in 2017 (up from 55th in 2016), accounting for 0.2506% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2538% in 2016).

Morocco was Russia’s 50th largest supplier in 2017 (down from 47th in 2016), accounting for 0.2496% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.3108% in 2016).

Russia’s Exports to Morocco

The major share of Russian exports to Morocco in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 78.20% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (50.05% in 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.88% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (18.10% in 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 5.46% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (3.54% in 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 3.72% of Russia’s total exports to Morocco (23.11% in 2016).

  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $7,412,803;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $3,509,078.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Morocco in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $132,724,915;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $76,568,776;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $4,219,995.

The major share of Russian imports from Morocco in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 68.47% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (70.98% in 2016);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 20.80% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (21.47% in 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 2.62% of Russia’s total imports from Morocco (1.62% in 2016);
