In 2017, Russia’s trade with New Zealand totaled $299,655,676, up 31.55% ($71,862,230) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to New Zealand in 2017 totaled $82,913,792, up 6.73% ($5,226,519) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from New Zealand in 2017 totaled $216,741,884, up 44.39% ($66,635,711) from 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with New Zealand in 2017 was $133,828,092, a 84.80% increase ($61,409,192) over 2016.

New Zealand was Russia’s 90th largest trading partner in 2017 (up from 94th in 2016), accounting for 0.0513% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0487% in 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 100th largest export market in 2017 (down from 97th in 2016), accounting for 0.0232% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0272% in 2016).

New Zealand was Russia’s 69th largest supplier in 2017 (up from 73rd in 2016), accounting for 0.0955% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0824% in 2016).

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $404,658;
  • Tanning or dyeing extracts; dyes, pigments, paints, varnishes, putty and mastics (HS code 32) - an increase of $281,038;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $253,388.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to New Zealand in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $842,874;
