In 2017, Russia’s trade with the Philippines totaled $602,312,726, up 36.90% ($162,337,779) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to the Philippines in 2017 totaled $196,291,467, up 34.64% ($50,502,691) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from the Philippines in 2017 totaled $406,021,259, up 38.02% ($111,835,088) from 2016.

Russia’s trade deficit with the Philippines in 2017 was $209,729,792, a 41.33% increase ($61,332,397) over 2016.

The Philippines was Russia’s 75th largest trading partner in 2017 (up from 78th in 2016), accounting for 0.1031% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0941% in 2016).

The Philippines was Russia’s 88th largest export market in 2017 (up from 91st in 2016), accounting for 0.0550% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0511% in 2016).

The Philippines was Russia’s 59th largest supplier in 2017 (up from 60th in 2016), accounting for 0.1789% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1614% in 2016).

Russia’s Exports to the Philippines

The major share of Russian exports to the Philippines in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 46.10% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (63.07% in 2016);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 18.94% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (2.26% in 2016);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 17.81% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (10.94% in 2016);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 12.45% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (15.62% in 2016);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.02% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (3.30% in 2016);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.46% of Russia’s total exports to the Philippines (4.73% in 2016).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to the Philippines in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $21,328,343;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - an increase of $20,506,770;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $12,837,415;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - an increase of $1,599,561;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $733,419.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to the Philippines in 2017 over 2016 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $4,514,704;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $1,482,767;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $1,286,598.
