Russia’s Trade with Turkey

In 2017, Russia’s trade with Turkey totaled $21,604,141,906, up 36.34% ($5,758,354,906) from 2016.

Russia’s exports to Turkey in 2017 totaled $18,220,741,178, up 33.01% ($4,522,479,716) from 2016.

Russia’s imports from Turkey in 2017 totaled $3,383,400,728, up 57.55% ($1,235,875,190) from 2016.

Russia’s trade surplus with Turkey in 2017 was $14,837,340,450, a 28.45% increase ($3,286,604,526) over 2016.

Turkey was Russia’s 7th largest trading partner in 2017 (up from 8th in 2016), accounting for 3.6990% of Russia’s total trade (up from 3.3876% in 2016).

Turkey was Russia’s 5th largest export market in 2017 (just as in 2016), accounting for 5.1027% of Russia’s total exports (up from 4.7981% in 2016).

Turkey was Russia’s 16th largest supplier in 2017 (up from 22nd in 2016), accounting for 1.4907% of Russia’s total imports (up from 1.1783% in 2016).

The major share of Russian exports to Turkey in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 25.90% of Russia’s total exports to Turkey (24.48% in 2016);
