In 2017, Russia’s trade totaled $584,050 million, up 24.86% ($116,297 million) from 2016.
Russia’s exports in 2017 totaled $357,083 million, up 25.08% ($71,592 million) from 2016.
Russia’s imports in 2017 totaled $226,966 million, up 24.53% ($44,705 million) from 2016.
Russia’s trade surplus in 2017 was $130,117 million, a 26.05% increase ($26,887 million) over 2016.
Russia’s Exports
The major share of Russian exports in 2017 (and in 2016) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 60.37% of Russia’s total exports (59.18% in 2016);
- Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 10.43% of Russia’s total exports (10.18% in 2016);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 6.70% of Russia’s total exports (7.28% in 2016);
- Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.02% of Russia’s total exports (6.39% in 2016);
