Russia’s Trade with Latvia

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Latvia was $1,226,017,532, down 27.56% ($466,466,370) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Latvia in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $1,119,792,388, down 30.47% ($490,636,484) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Latvia in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $106,225,144, up 29.46% ($24,170,114) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Latvia in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $1,013,567,244, a 33.68% decrease ($514,806,598) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Latvia was Russia’s 30th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 18th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.7778% of Russia’s total trade (down from 1.3166% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Latvia was Russia’s 22nd largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 16th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.0869% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.9324% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Latvia was Russia’s 58th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 59th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1945% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1815% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Latvia

The major share of Russian exports to Latvia in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 70.26% of Russia’s total exports to Latvia (84.15% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 10.55% of Russia’s total exports to Latvia (3.88% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
