Russia’s Trade with Lebanon

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Lebanon was $116,752,683, down 30.98% ($52,404,991) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $114,607,921, down 31.60% ($52,945,293) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $2,144,762, up 33.68% ($540,302) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $112,463,159, a 32.23% decrease ($53,485,595) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Lebanon was Russia’s 79th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 65th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0741% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1316% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Lebanon was Russia’s 70th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 54th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.1112% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2011% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Lebanon was Russia’s 123rd largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 119th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0039% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0035% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 80.55% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (33.22% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 6.24% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (53.01% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 4.23% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (8.94% in the 1st quarter of 2017);

  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $946,326;

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $81,677,715;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $10,189,017;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $4,054,761;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $638,481;
