Russia’s Trade with Portugal
In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Portugal totaled $433,856,103, up 4.03% ($16,800,256) from the 1st quarter of 2017.
Russia’s exports to Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 were $301,817,387, down 3.97% ($12,468,689) from the 1st quarter of 2017.
Russia’s imports from Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $132,038,716, up 28.48% ($29,268,945) from the 1st quarter of 2017.
Russia’s trade surplus with Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $169,778,671, a 19.73% decrease ($41,737,634) over the 1st quarter of 2017.
Portugal was Russia’s 51st largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 45th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2752% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.3244% in the 1st quarter of 2017).
Portugal was Russia’s 48th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 42nd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2930% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.3771% in the 1st quarter of 2017).
Portugal was Russia’s 51st largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (up from 54th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2418% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.2273% in the 1st quarter of 2017).
Russia’s Exports to Portugal
The major share of Russian exports to Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:
- Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 91.91% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (94.66% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
- Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 3.76% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (1.63% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
- Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 2.20% of Russia’s total exports to Portugal (1.88% in the 1st quarter of 2017).
The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - an increase of $6,232,478;
- Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $2,085,007;
- Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $1,001,909.
The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Portugal in the 1st quarter of 2018 over the 1st quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:
- Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $20,116,265;
- Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $1,325,977;
- Fish and crustaceans, molluscs and other aquatic invertebrates (HS code 03) - a decrease of $1,304,177;
