Russia’s Trade with Spain

In the 1st quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Spain totaled $1,421,149,797, up 14.30% ($177,825,943) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Spain in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $658,135,516, up 10.83% ($64,302,768) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Spain in the 1st quarter of 2018 totaled $763,014,281, up 17.48% ($113,523,175) from the 1st quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Spain in the 1st quarter of 2018 was $104,878,765, a 88.43% increase ($49,220,407) over the 1st quarter of 2017.

Spain was Russia’s 23rd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2018 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.9016% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.9672% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Spain was Russia’s 36th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 33rd in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.6388% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.7126% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Spain was Russia’s 18th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2018 (down from 17th in the 1st quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.3972% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.4364% in the 1st quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Spain

The major share of Russian exports to Spain in the 1st quarter of 2018 (and in the 1st quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 71.04% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (71.85% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 16.50% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (13.55% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.35% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (4.11% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 3.68% of Russia’s total exports to Spain (1.67% in the 1st quarter of 2017);
