Russia’s Trade with Bulgaria

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Bulgaria was $803,695,809, down 1.86% ($15,262,185) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Bulgaria in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $668,776,482, down 3.10% ($21,383,309) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Bulgaria in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $134,919,327, up 4.75% ($6,121,124) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Bulgaria in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $533,857,155, a 4.90% decrease ($27,504,433) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Bulgaria was Russia’s 37th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 36th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.4702% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.5860% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 35th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 28th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.6069% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.8219% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Bulgaria was Russia’s 55th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 52nd in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2222% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.2309% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Bulgaria

The major share of Russian exports to Bulgaria in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 78.68% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (79.37% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 13.73% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (12.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 2.83% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (1.93% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 1.95% of Russia’s total exports to Bulgaria (1.65% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).
