Russia’s Trade with Cyprus

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Cyprus was $88,646,329, down 17.94% ($19,385,775) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2018 were $86,564,158, down 19.08% ($20,406,848) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $2,082,171, up 96.23% ($1,021,073) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $84,481,987, a 20.23% decrease ($21,427,921) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Cyprus was Russia’s 85th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 81st in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0519% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0773% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Cyprus was Russia’s 75th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 69th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0785% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1274% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Cyprus was Russia’s 122nd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 127th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0034% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0019% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Cyprus

The major share of Russian exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 30.52% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (74.01% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 14.25% of Russia’s total exports to Cyprus (4.32% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cyprus in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $628,186;
