Russia’s Trade with Ecuador

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Ecuador totaled $409,320,819, up 3.38% ($13,378,491) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $59,206,953, up 26.36% ($12,350,122) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $350,113,866, up 0.29% ($1,028,369) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $290,906,913, a 3.75% decrease ($11,321,753) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Ecuador was Russia’s 55th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 50th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.2395% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2833% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Ecuador was Russia’s 83rd largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 87th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0537% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0558% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Ecuador was Russia’s 33rd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (down from 31st in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.5767% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.6258% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,014,058;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $800,968;
  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $764,218;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $353,000;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $261,739.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $3,094,784;

The major share of Russian imports from Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 99.96% of Russia’s total imports from Ecuador (99.95% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Ecuador in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:
