Russia’s Trade with India

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with India totaled $3,161,923,737, up 42.93% ($949,671,962) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $2,364,725,308, up 65.46% ($935,567,648) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from India in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $797,198,429, up 1.80% ($14,104,314) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with India in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $1,567,526,879, a 142.63% increase ($921,463,334) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

India was Russia’s 16th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 17th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.8500% of Russia’s total trade (up from 1.5829% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

India was Russia’s 15th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 16th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 2.1458% of Russia’s total exports (up from 1.7019% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

India was Russia’s 19th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 20th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.3132% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.4038% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to India

The major share of Russian exports to India in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 21.94% of Russia’s total exports to India (15.05% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.43% of Russia’s total exports to India (14.76% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
