Russia’s Trade with Uruguay

In the 2nd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Uruguay totaled $62,644,292, up 36.82% ($16,858,161) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $19,165,000, up 31.54% ($4,594,988) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Uruguay in the 2nd quarter of 2018 totaled $43,479,292, up 39.28% ($12,263,173) from the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Uruguay in the 2nd quarter of 2018 was $24,314,292, a 46.07% increase ($7,668,185) over the 2nd quarter of 2017.

Uruguay was Russia’s 92nd largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 101st in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0367% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0328% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Uruguay was Russia’s 107th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0174% of Russia’s total exports (just as in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Uruguay was Russia’s 75th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (up from 80th in the 2nd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0716% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0560% in the 2nd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Uruguay

The major share of Russian exports to Uruguay in the 2nd quarter of 2018 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 88.50% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (92.85% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 7.40% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (4.53% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 3.77% of Russia’s total exports to Uruguay (0.89% in the 2nd quarter of 2017);

  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $648,513;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $109,095;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - an increase of $64,250.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Uruguay in the 2nd quarter of 2018 over the 2nd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - a decrease of $202,288;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $172,020.
