The major trading partners of Russia in Africa in the 3rd quarter of 2018:

The top five Russia’s trade partners in Africa in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were Egypt (0.7899% of Russia’s total foreign trade), Algeria (0.6138%), South Africa (0.1992%), Nigeria (0.1527%), and Morocco (0.1352%);

The top five Russia’s export markets in Africa in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were Egypt (1.1728% of Russia’s total exports), Algeria (0.9407%), Nigeria (0.2276%), Tunisia (0.1731%), and Morocco (0.1554%);

The top five Russia’s import suppliers from Africa in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were South Africa (0.3888% of Russia’s total imports), Morocco (0.0972%), Cote d’Ivoire (0.0747%), Egypt (0.0723%), and Kenya (0.0615%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Africa in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017:

  • The share of Egypt in Russia’s total exports declined from 1.8811% in the 3rd quarter of the 2017 to 1.1728% in the 3rd quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Algeria in Russia’s total exports declined from 1.7655% in the 3rd quarter of the 2017 to 0.9407% in the 3rd quarter of the 2018;
  • The share of Togo in Russia’s total exports rose 12.9-fold from 0.0034% in the 3rd quarter of the 2017 to 0.0438% in the 3rd quarter of the 2018.
