Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Cambodia totaled $64,324,315, up 21.35% ($11,319,094) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $5,393,696, up 225.34% ($3,735,817) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $58,930,619, up 14.77% ($7,583,277) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $53,536,923, a 7.74% increase ($3,847,460) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Cambodia was Russia’s 95th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 101st in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0374% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0363% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Cambodia was Russia’s 133rd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 145th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0048% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0019% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Cambodia was Russia’s 65th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 69th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0984% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0844% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 81.78% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (44.24% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.36% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (5.51% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.24% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (0.41% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 0.60% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (1.04% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 0.07% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (19.04% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - an increase of $1,767,094;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,580,833;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - an increase of $388,711;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - an increase of $329,613;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $317,577;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $60,126;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $41,877.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $315,559;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $33,480.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The major share of Russian imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 94.76% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (95.71% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 1.72% of Russia’s total imports from Cambodia (2.27% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The largest gains in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Articles of apparel and clothing accessories, knitted or crocheted (HS code 61) - an increase of $4,486,206;
  • Footwear, gaiters and the like; parts of such articles (HS code 64) - an increase of $2,315,250;
