In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Iraq totaled $81,943,215, up 21.42% ($14,454,802) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $81,942,275, up 21.48% ($14,488,270) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Iraq in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $940, down 97.27% ($33,468) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Iraq in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $81,941,335, a 21.54% increase ($14,521,738) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Iraq was Russia’s 89th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0476% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0462% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $625,697;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $518,065.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $1,418,955;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $904,112;
  • Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles (HS code 85) - a decrease of $643,351;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $253,329.
