Russia’s Trade with Myanmar (Burma)

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Myanmar (Burma) totaled $47,466,902, up 85.47% ($21,874,108) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Myanmar (Burma) in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $24,112,419, up 166.14% ($15,052,401) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Myanmar (Burma) in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $23,354,483, up 41.26% ($6,821,707) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade balance with Myanmar (Burma) went from a deficit of $7,472,758 in the 3rd quarter of 2017, to a surplus of $757,936 in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

Myanmar (Burma) was Russia’s 104th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 111th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0276% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0175% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Myanmar (Burma) was Russia’s 104th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 119th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0215% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0106% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Myanmar (Burma) was Russia’s 85th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 91st in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0390% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0272% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - an increase of $103,956.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Myanmar (Burma) in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $902,452;

  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $88,398.
