Russia’s Trade with the Dominican Republic

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with the Dominican Republic totaled $29,052,510, up 183.61% ($18,808,692) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to the Dominican Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $22,512,913, up 384.72% ($17,868,405) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $6,539,597, up 16.79% ($940,287) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade balance with the Dominican Republic went from a deficit of $954,802 in the 3rd quarter of 2017, to a surplus of $15,973,316 in the 3rd quarter of 2018.

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 116th largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 133rd in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0169% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0070% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 105th largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 129th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0201% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0054% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The Dominican Republic was Russia’s 101st largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (up from 102nd in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 0.0109% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0092% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from the Dominican Republic in the 3rd quarter of 2018 over the 3rd quarter of 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $423,457;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $126,473;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $29,791.
