Russia’s Trade with the Netherlands

In the 3rd quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with the Netherlands totaled $10,928,909,575, up 27.13% ($2,332,188,858) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2018 totaled $10,077,470,772, up 32.89% ($2,494,286,183) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2018 were $851,438,803, down 15.99% ($162,097,325) from the 3rd quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2018 was $9,226,031,969, a 40.43% increase ($2,656,383,508) over the 3rd quarter of 2017.

The Netherlands was Russia’s 3rd largest trading partner in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 6.3514% of Russia’s total trade (up from 5.8806% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 2nd largest export market in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (just as in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 8.9820% of Russia’s total exports (up from 8.8838% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

The Netherlands was Russia’s 17th largest supplier in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (down from 14th in the 3rd quarter of 2017), accounting for 1.4220% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.6663% in the 3rd quarter of 2017).

Russia’s Exports to the Netherlands

The major share of Russian exports to the Netherlands in the 3rd quarter of 2018 (and in the 3rd quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 86.62% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (83.67% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 8.65% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (11.42% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 2.36% of Russia’s total exports to the Netherlands (2.76% in the 3rd quarter of 2017);
