Russia’s Trade with Costa Rica

In the 4th quarter of 2018, Russia’s trade with Costa Rica was $46,380,775, down 14.31% ($7,747,578) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s exports to Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2018 totaled $7,295,461, up 3.40% ($239,779) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s imports from Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2018 were $39,085,314, down 16.97% ($7,987,357) from the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s trade deficit with Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2018 was $31,789,853, a 20.56% decrease ($8,227,136) over the 4th quarter of 2017.

Russia’s Imports from Costa Rica

The major share of Russian imports from Costa Rica in the 4th quarter of 2018 (and in the 4th quarter of 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 79.61% of Russia’s total imports from Costa Rica (67.74% in the 4th quarter of 2017);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 17.83% of Russia’s total imports from Costa Rica (30.87% in the 4th quarter of 2017).
