In 2018, Russia’s trade with Lebanon was $470,430,607, down 25.77% ($163,289,085) from 2017.

Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2018 were $458,935,720, down 26.55% ($165,887,125) from 2017.

Russia’s imports from Lebanon in 2018 totaled $11,494,887, up 29.20% ($2,598,040) from 2017.

Russia’s trade surplus with Lebanon in 2018 was $447,440,833, a 27.35% decrease ($168,485,165) over 2017.

Lebanon was Russia’s 84th largest trading partner in 2018 (down from 73rd in 2017), accounting for 0.0684% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1085% in 2017).

Lebanon was Russia’s 75th largest export market in 2018 (down from 64th in 2017), accounting for 0.1020% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.1750% in 2017).

Lebanon was Russia’s 118th largest supplier in 2018 (just as in 2017), accounting for 0.0048% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0039% in 2017).

Russia’s Exports to Lebanon

The major share of Russian exports to Lebanon in 2018 (and in 2017) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 66.42% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (48.99% in 2017);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 18.07% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (37.97% in 2017);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 5.58% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (3.23% in 2017);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 5.31% of Russia’s total exports to Lebanon (5.61% in 2017);

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - an increase of $1,958,857;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $1,903,843;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - an increase of $1,821,871.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Lebanon in 2018 over 2017 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $154,632,867;
  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $17,871,200;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $12,936,024;
  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - a decrease of $4,907,693;
  • Organic chemicals (HS code 29) - a decrease of $2,320,528.
