Russia’s Trade with Belgium

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Belgium was $2,659,276,104, down 16.42% ($522,396,190) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $2,123,476,920, down 18.02% ($466,746,097) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $535,799,184, down 9.41% ($55,650,093) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $1,587,677,736, a 20.57% decrease ($411,096,004) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Belgium was Russia’s 16th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.6892% of Russia’s total trade (down from 2.0184% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Belgium was Russia’s 13th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 12th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.0343% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.5142% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Belgium was Russia’s 23rd largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 21st in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.0101% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.0830% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Belgium

The major share of Russian exports to Belgium in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 48.90% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (42.15% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Precious metals and stones (HS code 71) - 28.75% of Russia’s total exports to Belgium (36.94% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
