Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Cambodia totaled $55,921,464, up 21.48% ($9,889,579) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $1,425,635, up 437.15% ($1,160,230) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $54,495,829, up 19.07% ($8,729,349) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $53,070,194, a 16.64% increase ($7,569,119) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Cambodia was Russia’s 93rd largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 99th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0355% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0292% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Cambodia was Russia’s 149th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 163rd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0014% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0003% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Cambodia was Russia’s 69th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 72nd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1027% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0838% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 12.51% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (31.78% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 8.61% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (0.09% in the 1st quarter of 2018);

  • Other made up textile articles; sets; worn clothing and worn textile articles; rags (HS code 63) - an increase of $122,557;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - an increase of $74,279;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $73,015;
  • Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - an increase of $54,171;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - an increase of $21,346.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 1st quarter of 2019 over the 1st quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $34,349;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $12,000.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia
