Russia’s Trade with Finland

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Finland was $3,142,618,069, down 14.99% ($554,253,125) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Finland in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $2,502,650,487, down 13.36% ($385,824,659) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Finland in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $639,967,582, down 20.83% ($168,428,466) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Finland in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $1,862,682,905, a 10.45% decrease ($217,396,193) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Finland was Russia’s 14th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 13th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.9963% of Russia’s total trade (down from 2.3452% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Finland was Russia’s 12th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 9th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 2.3976% of Russia’s total exports (down from 2.8037% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Finland was Russia’s 19th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 17th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 1.2065% of Russia’s total imports (down from 1.4803% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Finland

The major share of Russian exports to Finland in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 13.20% of Russia’s total exports to Finland (11.90% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
