Russia’s Trade with Georgia

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Georgia was $266,352,327, down 21.11% ($71,277,167) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Georgia in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $155,504,992, down 40.17% ($104,387,751) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Georgia in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $110,847,335, up 42.59% ($33,110,584) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Georgia in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $44,657,657, a 75.48% decrease ($137,498,335) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Georgia was Russia’s 65th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 57th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1692% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.2142% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Georgia was Russia’s 64th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 56th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1490% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.2523% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Georgia was Russia’s 56th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 63rd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2090% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.1423% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Georgia

The major share of Russian exports to Georgia in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 22.37% of Russia’s total exports to Georgia (20.61% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
