Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Jordan was $61,435,594, down 39.18% ($39,570,926) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $59,293,713, down 36.73% ($34,424,588) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $2,141,881, down 70.61% ($5,146,338) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $57,151,832, a 33.88% decrease ($29,278,250) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Jordan was Russia’s 90th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 82nd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0390% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0641% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Jordan was Russia’s 81st largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 72nd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0568% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0910% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Jordan was Russia’s 115th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 98th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0040% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0133% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 83.15% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (26.58% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 7.51% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (11.42% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.48% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (2.05% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 2.99% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (0.53% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.81% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (5.41% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 0.06% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (1.21% in the 1st quarter of 2018);

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 over the 1st quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $24,494,658;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - an increase of $1,410,246;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $1,278,704;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - an increase of $432,207.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 over the 1st quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - a decrease of $3,633,703;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $3,531,776;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $2,601,667;
  • Wadding, felt and nonwovens; special yarns, twine, cordage, ropes and cables and articles thereof (HS code 56) - a decrease of $1,202,135;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $809,438;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $675,811;
  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $314,152;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $258,081.

Russia’s Imports from Jordan

The major share of Russian imports from Jordan in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 35.68% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (10.08% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 31.78% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (17.36% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 30.76% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (72.15% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.68% of Russia’s total imports from Jordan (0.23% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
