Russia’s Trade with Malta

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Malta was $931,205,320, down 23.21% ($281,438,985) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Malta in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $928,576,778, down 22.77% ($273,705,010) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Malta in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $2,628,542, down 74.63% ($7,733,975) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Malta in the 1st quarter of 2019 was $925,948,236, a 22.31% decrease ($265,971,035) over the 1st quarter of 2018.

Malta was Russia’s 34th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 31st in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.5915% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.7693% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Malta was Russia’s 28th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 19th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.8896% of Russia’s total exports (down from 1.1670% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Malta was Russia’s 112th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 95th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0050% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0190% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Malta

The major share of Russian exports to Malta in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 98.47% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (99.77% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.48% of Russia’s total exports to Malta (0.07% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Imports from Malta

The major share of Russian imports from Malta in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 72.60% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (46.87% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 23.32% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (52.52% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Textiles, textile products and footwear (HS codes 50-67) - 1.23% of Russia’s total imports from Malta (0.20% in the 1st quarter of 2018).
