Russia’s Trade with Serbia

In the 1st quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Serbia totaled $570,717,332, up 2.99% ($16,579,875) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Serbia in the 1st quarter of 2019 totaled $322,475,681, up 21.14% ($56,276,760) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Serbia in the 1st quarter of 2019 were $248,241,651, down 13.79% ($39,696,885) from the 1st quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Serbia went from a deficit of $21,739,615 in the 1st quarter of 2018, to a surplus of $74,234,030 in the 1st quarter of 2019.

Serbia was Russia’s 45th largest trading partner in the 1st quarter of 2019 (just as in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3625% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.3515% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Serbia was Russia’s 50th largest export market in the 1st quarter of 2019 (up from 55th in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3089% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.2584% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Serbia was Russia’s 35th largest supplier in the 1st quarter of 2019 (down from 33rd in the 1st quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.4680% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.5273% in the 1st quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Serbia

The major share of Russian exports to Serbia in the 1st quarter of 2019 (and in the 1st quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 61.30% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (55.13% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 15.35% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (14.67% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 6.98% of Russia’s total exports to Serbia (8.00% in the 1st quarter of 2018);
