Russia’s Trade with Cambodia

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Cambodia totaled $48,618,855, up 12.06% ($5,232,184) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $2,066,900, down 36.52% ($1,189,199) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $46,551,955, up 16.00% ($6,421,383) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $44,485,055, a 20.64% increase ($7,610,582) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Cambodia was Russia’s 96th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 105th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0304% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0254% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Cambodia was Russia’s 144th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 139th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0021% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0030% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Cambodia was Russia’s 74th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 77th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0785% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0661% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Cambodia

The major share of Russian exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 76.92% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (15.36% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 8.38% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (0.18% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 6.82% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (1.85% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.65% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (15.29% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 0.61% of Russia’s total exports to Cambodia (65.04% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Vehicles other than railway or tramway rolling stock, and parts and accessories thereof (HS code 87) - an increase of $1,115,780;
  • Miscellaneous edible preparations (HS code 21) - an increase of $119,570;
  • Paper and paperboard; articles of paper pulp, of paper or of paperboard (HS code 48) - an increase of $80,682;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - an increase of $47,585;
  • Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS code 41) - an increase of $40,521.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - a decrease of $2,105,134;
  • Fertilizers (HS code 31) - a decrease of $197,051;
  • Rubber and articles thereof (HS code 40) - a decrease of $150,732;
  • Essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations (HS code 33) - a decrease of $42,891;
  • Furniture; bedding, mattresses, mattress supports, cushions and similar stuffed furnishings; lamps and lighting fittings, not elsewhere specified or included; illuminated sign illuminated nameplates and the like; prefabricated buildings (HS code 94) - a decrease of $33,941;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $25,987;
  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - a decrease of $21,046;
  • Plastics and articles thereof (HS code 39) - a decrease of $8,548.

Russia’s Imports from Cambodia

The largest declines in Russia’s imports from Cambodia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $378,882.
