Russia’s Trade with Chile

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Chile was $254,453,174, down 24.04% ($80,530,483) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $17,932,142, down 18.33% ($4,023,394) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $236,521,032, down 24.44% ($76,507,089) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $218,588,890, a 24.90% decrease ($72,483,695) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Chile was Russia’s 67th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 60th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1589% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.1960% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Chile was Russia’s 105th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 104th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0178% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0199% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Chile was Russia’s 43rd largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 34th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.3987% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.5156% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Chile

The major share of Russian exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 58.88% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (38.00% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 23.13% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (33.05% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 11.54% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (17.40% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.87% of Russia’s total exports to Chile (5.95% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

  • Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials (HS code 68) - an increase of $58,750.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Chile in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:
