There were no Russia’s imports from Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2019, while in the 2nd quarter of 2018, Iraq was Russia’s 175th largest supplier, accounting for 0.0000% of Russia’s total imports.

Russia’s Exports to Iraq

The major share of Russian exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 82.91% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (90.51% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 5.33% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (5.09% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.61% of Russia’s total exports to Iraq (2.58% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - an increase of $1,012,371;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $782,024.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Iraq in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Animal or vegetable fats and oils and their cleavage products prepared edible fats; animal or vegetable waxes (HS code 15) - a decrease of $21,383,277;

  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $4,718,539;
  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $3,808,484;
  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $870,534.
