Russia’s Trade with Jordan

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Jordan was $44,748,100, down 13.79% ($7,155,440) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $43,339,697, down 8.18% ($3,859,795) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $1,408,403, down 70.06% ($3,295,645) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade surplus with Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $41,931,294, a 1.33% decrease ($564,150) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Jordan was Russia’s 98th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 101st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0280% of Russia’s total trade (down from 0.0304% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Jordan was Russia’s 86th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 89th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0430% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0428% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Jordan was Russia’s 129th largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 108th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0024% of Russia’s total imports (down from 0.0077% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Jordan

The major share of Russian exports to Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Food products and agricultural raw materials (HS codes 01-24) - 72.20% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (55.80% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 10.30% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (1.06% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 9.48% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (31.21% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 4.64% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (6.02% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 2.50% of Russia’s total exports to Jordan (2.98% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

The largest gains in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - an increase of $7,073,212;
  • Salt; sulfur; earths and stone; plastering materials, lime and cement (HS code 25) - an increase of $3,636,447;
  • Mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS code 27) - an increase of $329,467;
  • Inorganic chemicals; organic or inorganic compounds of precious metals, of rare-earth metals,of radioactive elements or of isotopes (HS code 28) - an increase of $226,636.

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Iron and steel (HS code 72) - a decrease of $5,193,339;
  • Copper and articles thereof (HS code 74) - a decrease of $5,116,453;
  • Wood and articles of wood; wood charcoal (HS code 44) - a decrease of $725,171;
  • Optical, photographic, cinematographic, measuring, checking, precision, medical or surgical instruments and apparatus; parts and accessories thereof (HS code 90) - a decrease of $711,760;
  • Edible vegetables and certain roots and tubers (HS code 07) - a decrease of $529,328;
  • Tobacco and manufactured tobacco substitutes (HS code 24) - a decrease of $516,339;
  • Cocoa and cocoa preparations (HS code 18) - a decrease of $506,586;
  • Miscellaneous chemical products (HS code 38) - a decrease of $480,765;
  • Articles of iron or steel (HS code 73) - a decrease of $323,430;
  • Meat and edible meat offal (HS code 02) - a decrease of $300,494;
  • Nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof (HS code 84) - a decrease of $176,084;
  • Sugars and sugar confectionery (HS code 17) - a decrease of $174,670;

Russia’s Imports from Jordan

The major share of Russian imports from Jordan in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:
