Russia’s Trade with Peru

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Peru totaled $140,359,103, up 14.71% ($17,996,631) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2019 were $42,375,601, down 46.20% ($36,386,308) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $97,983,502, up 124.73% ($54,382,939) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade balance with Peru went from a surplus of $35,161,346 in the 2nd quarter of 2018, to a deficit of $55,607,901 in the 2nd quarter of 2019.

Peru was Russia’s 75th largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 81st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0877% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.0716% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 87th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (down from 82nd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.0421% of Russia’s total exports (down from 0.0715% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Peru was Russia’s 61st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 74th in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1652% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.0718% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Peru

The major share of Russian exports to Peru in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 54.51% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (51.36% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 36.04% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (13.57% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 3.78% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (2.44% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Metals and products from them (HS codes 72-83) - 1.88% of Russia’s total exports to Peru (20.14% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

  • Cereals (HS code 10) - a decrease of $8,470,304;
