Russia’s Trade with Slovenia

In the 2nd quarter of 2019, Russia’s trade with Slovenia totaled $364,288,523, up 19.77% ($60,124,090) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $112,385,884, up 42.28% ($33,397,812) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s imports from Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 totaled $251,902,639, up 11.87% ($26,726,278) from the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Russia’s trade deficit with Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 was $139,516,755, a 4.56% decrease ($6,671,534) over the 2nd quarter of 2018.

Slovenia was Russia’s 61st largest trading partner in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 63rd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.2276% of Russia’s total trade (up from 0.1780% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Slovenia was Russia’s 70th largest export market in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 81st in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.1115% of Russia’s total exports (up from 0.0717% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Slovenia was Russia’s 41st largest supplier in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (up from 42nd in the 2nd quarter of 2018), accounting for 0.4246% of Russia’s total imports (up from 0.3709% in the 2nd quarter of 2018).

Russia’s Exports to Slovenia

The major share of Russian exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 (and in the 2nd quarter of 2018) was accounted for the following product types:

  • Mineral products (HS codes 25-27) - 90.83% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (83.79% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Chemical products (HS codes 28-40) - 4.75% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (5.89% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Wood and wood products (HS codes 44-49) - 1.32% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.39% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles (HS codes 84-90) - 1.08% of Russia’s total exports to Slovenia (1.19% in the 2nd quarter of 2018);

The largest declines in Russia’s exports to Slovenia in the 2nd quarter of 2019 over the 2nd quarter of 2018 were recorded for the following product groups:

  • Aluminum and articles thereof (HS code 76) - a decrease of $2,944,530;
  • Tools, implements, cutlery, spoons and forks, of base metal; parts thereof of base metal (HS code 82) - a decrease of $807,039;
